challenges
In the coming months we will be sharing information on challenges with the Science for Humanity network. If you would like to receive information on challenges then please join us now.
If you are aware of a problem which you think would make a suitable challenge for the network then please contact us.
What is a challenge?
- A challenge is a specific problem within a specific community in the developing world which seeks a science based solution.
- We recognise that for many of the problems faced in the developing world, science is just one factor in finding a successful solution. For a solution to be successful, the problem must be defined in terms of its local context including social, cultural and environmental factors.
- The development of a challenge is done in partnership with the local community and an NGO partner. Our community partners are ultimately responsible for the selection and implementation of a pilot project.
